Yearbook Signing The entire second grade gathered in the Media Center to sign each other's yearbooks. Look how beautiful our plants are! Aren't we so creative? Our collages will be so fantastic! Mrs. Baron's class helped our class to recreate the different phases of the moon using Oreo cookies, vanilla frosting, paper plate, and a plastic knife. We combined our talented students and their "hunger" for learning to create a unique, and yummy, product in the name of science! Each child created a solid shape creature. They had to use at least two solid shapes such as: cylinder, sphere, rectangle prism, or cube. They came out so awesome! Check out some of the stuffed animals our class brought in to donate to our local fire department. Each child had to find a special pumpkin to decorate as their favorite book character. Next they had to tell about them using three clues. Finally they told why the character was important to them. Wow what a super job! We walked down to the nature trail Wednesday November 7th to pick out two of our favorite trees. Taylor found "Bob" and Robbie found "Robert" The students looked closely to each tree and recorded in their journals what they saw. We will continue our journey through each season. Science Experiment - Temperature We followed the scientific method to experiment how temperature will affect an ice cube. We put ice cubes in three separate locations: directly under a lamp, outside on the picnic table, and on the hot surface of the popcorn machine. We recorded our observations every ten minutes! |
