Because this tribe lived near and in the woods, they were called the Eastern Woodland Indians. Their food, shelter, clothing, tools, and weapons were made from items found in the forest. They lived in villages near streams or lakes.

The Plains Indian Tribe

Because this tribe lived in the area of our country called the Great Plains, they were called the Plains Indians.  The Plains Indians were great hunters. The most important resource this tribe had was the buffalo. The buffalo and other hunted animals provided them with all of their basic needs: food, clothing, and shelter.
